No Components Game
First Draft
In this journal, I just want to explain my idea. So my initial idea is a guessing game that takes place between 4 players or more. Player 1 and Player 2 is Team A and Player 3 and Player 4 is Team B.
The game begins, Team A goes first and player 3 from another team is the “asker” who need to choose an obstacle in the space they settle in and tell the player 1” actor” about it quietly without letting other players know. The actor cannot tell his teammates player 2” guesser “what exactly is the obstacle but uses the finger to point anything on his body and use the first letter of his body parts name to make the word. For example, player 3” asker” tell the player 1” actor” the word “Lamp”, in order to tell player 2” guesser” this world, player 1” actor” could point his leg first them, then ankle, middle finger, palate. So L-A-M-P. If Player 2 “guesser” catch the word, he needs to say the word “lamp” out loud to finish this round and Team A got 1 score, Then team A and team B switch. Each round has 1 min time limit, it starts immediately after the word has been told.
This is an initial draft, I am going to test out this game with people to see if it’s working.
Second Draft
I tested out the game with several friends. The concept of the game works fine but one thing dragged my attention when testing the game. Because the player needs the first letter of his body parts name to make up the word. But sometimes a player just finds it difficult to find the right body parts that start with the right letter. For example, if the word is “box”, a player will probably struggle to find a body part that starts with x. By searching on google, the xiphoid process is the words starts with X which is definitely not a common word we know. This game becomes user friendly for medical students or someone with a medical background.
I will see what can I improve this situation and hope to do the final video recording in the next draft.
Final Draft
After several try out, I still decide to use the original game rules. Because It’s one of the core features of my game. I made the Video Recording for my game which is attached below.
